EAS SEGAS CYCLADES as the Organizer, the South Aegean Region and the Municipality of Naxos as Co-Organisers and under the approval of the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) are organizing the 2nd PORTARATHLON, International Combined Events Meeting in the island of Naxos.

The 2nd PORTARATHLON 2019 International Meeting will take place under the following terms:

  1. PLACE – DATE:

Naxos –   Municipal Stadium of Naxos on the 8th & 9th of June 2019.

  1. DISCIPLINES:

2.1. DECATHLON:

1st day: 100m. – Long Jump – Shot Put – High Jump – 400m.

2nd day: 110m. Hurdles – Discus Throw – Pole Vault – Javelin throw– 1.500m.

2.2.  HEPTATHLON

1st day: 100m. Hurdles – High Jump – Shot Put – 200m.

2nd day: Long Jump – Javelin throw – 800m

  1. EXTRA DISCIPLINES

EAS SEGAS CYCLADES will add individual disciplines competitions during the event at the Stadium on Naxos for athletes.

  1. REGISTRATION – PROCEDURE:

Athletes’ registrations must be filled in and submitted through 2nd PORTARATHLON INTERNATIONAL MEETING official website portarathlon.gr

The Hellenic Athletics Association (SEGAS) will be automatically notified of all submitted registrations

  1. SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS

The final selection of participating athletes will be completed in collaboration between SEGAS and the Organizing Committee of PORTARATHLON.

2nd PORTARATHLON INTERNATIONAL MEETING will host at the maximum 12 Decathlon athletes and at the maximum 12 Heptathlon athletes

  1. ANNOUNCEMENT OF PARTICIPANTS

All valid registrations and the list of approved participants will be announced on the official website of the 2nd PORTARATHLON INTERNATIONAL MEETING, www.portarathlon.gr as well as on the official website of the Hellenic Athletics Association (SEGAS), www.segas.gr

  1. INTERNATIONAL ATHLETES (NON-GREEK)

For non- Greek athletes, the registration is considered valid and the athlete can participate on condition that (A) they have their National Federation’s approval, (B) they have accepted the registration terms regarding participation, transportation and hospitality, and (C) their participation is approved by the organizers.

  1. COMPETITION RULES

Initial heights will be determined by the Athletic Delegate, the Technical Delegate and the athletes.

In the vertical jumps, the increments for raising the bar are constant throughout the competition:  at 3 cm for the high jump, and 10 cm for the pole vault.

  1. AWARDS:

The first three winners will be awarded the following prizes:

  1. First winners will be awarded a Special ATHLETICS FEDERATION Cup, a Diploma and a Gold-plated Medal.
  2. Second winners will be awarded a Diploma and a Silver-plated Medal.
  3. Third winners will be awarded a Diploma and Bronze Medal

All participating athletes will get a special memoire/souvenir for their participation in the 2nd PORTARATHLON INTERNATIONAL COMBINED EVENTS MEETING.

  1. CALL ROOM:

All athletes should be IN PERSON in the CALL ROOM at least 45min to 1 hour before the beginning of every discipline to check in.

  1. TRANSPORTATION FOR INTERNATIONAL ATHLETES (NON-GREEK)

Organisers will cover part of the transportation cost of every athlete and their escort to and from Greece up to the amount of 250 euros.

For local transportation by ferry boat (Athens – Naxos – Athens) reservations will be made and tickets will be issued by EAS SEGAS CYCLADES.

  1. HOSPITALITY (PARTICIPANT ATHLETES AND ESCORTS)

For all participant athletes and escorts EAS SEGAS CYCLADES will cover (A) hospitality costs (3-4 nights in double rooms) in specific hotels on Naxos Island and (B) alimentation costs in specific restaurants in Naxos, respectively.
